Pondering

Yes, I'm still here. I haven't had much to say which is why I haven't been around lately. I'm amazed at how fast things are going! The girls have been with us for two months. Life has changed so dramatically in such a short time. I was thinking about all of the changes that have happened and started thinking about my brother. I can't believe that he will never walk again. I think about the night of his accident and the fact that the last time he ever walked was to his car that night. His life was changed in one second and will never be even close to the way it was before. He is moving to a nursing home on Wednesday. It's pretty close to me so I'll get to see him more often. The rehab hospital he's at now is across town and is about a 25 minute drive each way. The nursing home he's going to is about 5 minutes away.

The guardianship is almost complete! We got the temporary order on Friday and that is as legal as the final order so I'm not as paranoid now that my sister is going to just come and snatch them away. She said that an "advocate" told her that if she was her she would just go snatch them away from their daycare. I told her that if she ever did anything like that to her children that would be the end of our relationship. Now I don't have to worry about that.

So, all you moms out there, I need advice on feeding the 4 month old. I have been giving her rice cereal once a day. Should I be doing it more often? When should I start giving her other cereal? She's only been eating the cereal for about 2 weeks now but she doesn't seem to get full on it. About 20 minutes later she wants a bottle. Any advice is appreciated!

Sounds like you're staying busy with your nieces! They're really lucky to have you! For the cereal, I would suggest giving it to her maybe twice a day, either before or after she has her bottle. You could also try adding in applesauce, and give her some cereal, and about half a jar of the fruit. Hope that helps! Have a great week!
